PABLO AIR enters K-UAM business with leading technology companies

❚ PABLO AIR plans to develop 'UAM Integrated Flight Control System' with its own technology
Incheon, South Korea. — PABLO AIR (CEO Kim Young-Joon) announced on the 11th that it has launched a consortium with LG Uplus, Jeju Air, GS Caltex, Kakao Mobility, and Vertical Aerospace to commercialize K-UAM and signed a business agreement to participate in the "Korea Urban Air Mobility Grand Challenge (K-UAM GC)."
With this agreement, while PABLO AIR is speeding up its drone delivery demonstration and commercialization business, it will join hands with leading mobility technology companies to enter the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) market in earnest.
The six companies held a business agreement ceremony at LG Science Park in Seoul, on 10th and agreed to cooperate in various fields such as ▲ Korean UAM standards establishment ▲ Individual demonstrations to accelerate service commercialization ▲ Joint search for additional business opportunities in the UAM industry.
PABLO AIR is planning to establish an integrated UAM flight control system based on its expertise in developing a smart mobility traffic management system (PABLO AIR Mobility Network, PAMNet) which analyzes the flight departure and risk factors of the UAM and provides integrated management of the operation stability of the aircraft.
The roles of the five companies that will cooperate together are as follows. LG Uplus will establish a traffic management system and communication service for stable operation of UAM. Jeju Air will provide safe and reliable flight services based on its accumulated aviation expertise.
GS Caltex plans to build a UAM Vertiport (Vertical take-off and landing site) by utilizing a gas station network evenly distributed across the country. Kakao Mobility presents a multimodal mobility vision based on its expertise in operating the complete MaaS (Mobility as a Service) app "Kakao T," and is in charge of building a vertiport solution that implements automatic check-in and security search functions to support uninterrupted movement.
Britain's Vertical Aerospace, which is a global leading UAM aircraft manufacturer that has been pre-ordered more than 1,350 eVTOL from the global market, will be in charge of producing UAM aircraft for this consortium. A UAM pilot flight is set to take place at the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics.
"With this business agreement, we will work with consortium participating companies to reorganize the UAM industrial ecosystem and commercialize UAM services," said Kim Young-Joon, CEO of PABLO AIR. "We will successfully develop UAM Integrated Flight Control System and contribute to management of UAM operations."
Meanwhile, PABLO AIR won 2nd place in Operation category with PAMNet as an UAM traffic management platform at the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) XCELLENCE Awards 2021 and 2022 for two consecutive years recognition of their excellent technology, field utilization and future growth values in the global market.
